In Ramadan 2007, the second of the "Waiting Out of Sight" series, the first of which was held in Ramadan, was opened with a special exhibition of spiritual items belonging to the Ahl al-Bayt in the Department of Sacred Relics at Topkapı Palace.
The exhibition titled "Love for Ahl al-Bayt in the Ottoman Empire", organized jointly by the TOPKAPI Palace Museum and TÜRKKAD Istanbul Branch, was open between August 27 and November 24, 2008.
With the 9th Ottoman Sultan Selim I's conquest of Egypt and the transfer of the caliphate to the Ottoman Empire, many special belongings of the Ahl al-Bayt came under the special protection of the Ottoman Empire. The value given to Ahl al-Bayt by the Ottoman sultans, who lived with the Prophet's ethics, is known by everyone. The Ottoman Sultans have been honored by the Prophet Muhammad in the Holy Relics Department. Along with the cherished memories of the Prophet, they have preserved the objects belonging to the Ahl al-Bayt or attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt with great care for centuries and ensured that they have survived to the present day. A significant part of the artifacts in this special exhibition, which reflects the love of Ahl al-Bayt from the Ottoman Empire to the present day in its most beautiful form, are artifacts preserved in the museum but not exhibited. Hz. Hussein's robe, Hz. The prayer rug attributed to Fatma is just one of them.
In the Turkish-Islamic world, these relics, which are considered to be priceless neither materially nor spiritually, are shared with today's cultural world with this meaningful exhibition, which aims to bring together the love for the people of the Prophet and those who live with this love.
The exhibition was curated by Sevgi Ağca, Head of the Department of Sacred Relics at Topkapı Palace Museum.
