Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Symposium

Hacı Bayram-ı Veli, one of the spiritual architects of Ankara, the symbol of the Republic of Turkey, has not been adequately researched academically despite its historical importance.
Turkish Women's Cultural Association organized an international symposium in Ankara on 14-16 December 2012 in order to better understand the spiritual personality of Hacı Bayram-ı Veli with today's knowledge and perspective.
Hacı Bayram-ı Velî was a great Sufi who grew up in Anatolia, who was loved and valued, and whose inspirations prepared the conquest of Istanbul and even the foundation of the Republic of Turkey.
This symposium, organized jointly with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, is of great importance as it will enable the great wali to be recognized in the international community.
