"Friends to Friends" International Seyyid Burhaneddin Symposium

INTERNATIONAL SEYYİD BURHANEDDIN SYMPOSIUM

The International Seyyid Burhaneddin Symposium, organized jointly by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Erciyes University Faculty of Theology and Turkish Women's Cultural Association (TÜRKKAD-Istanbul), was held in Kayseri between 30 September - 2 October 2011.

In the symposium, sponsored by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipalityand under the academic consultancy of Erciyes University Faculty of Theology, one of the important spiritual architects of Kayseri and one of the valuable names in the history of Sufism, Hz. Seyyid Burhaneddin Muhakkık Tırmızi, who raised Mevlana, was commemorated for the first time with an International Symposium.

The symposium started on Friday, September 30 at the Sabancı Cultural Center in Kayseri with the participation of a total of 25 academics and scientists from Turkey and abroad, and sessions were held at the same center on October 1-2. The program ended on Sunday evening, October 2, with Ahmet Özhan's Sufi music concert and a Mevlevi ritual at Kadir Has Congress Center.
