At the opening of the event, which was held at Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center on March 18, 2008, the salaah for the martyrs was recited. The opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Kenan Gürsoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cenan Education, Culture and Health Foundation, Prof. Mehmet Emin Özafşar, Vice President of Religious Affairs, Prof. Omid Safi and Prof. Seyyid Safavi.
